Tom Avery

President, & Founder

As a business owner, Tom truly believes that happy, healthy employees are the key to happy, healthy companies. He has a proven knack for quickly spotting ways to help you improve processes, boost morale and use your employee benefits program like the powerful business tool that it is. Tom is extremely passionate about wellbeing and has tons of stories about how he has helped businesses like yours get great results. Go ahead, ask him about it. Just make sure you have a few minutes to spare.

Tom’s idea of fun is teaching kids business and finance concepts through Junior Achievement of Sacramento. If your child ever comes home from school wanting to discuss resumes and profit statements, Tom would be thrilled to hear about it.

Todd Forden

Managing Partner Broker

Todd began Health and Life sales in 2002 and has been working with government and health insurance companies in setting up inquiry, open enrollment and service operations since that time. He joined Innovative brokers to establish a branch operations in the Dallas Texas area. Todd’s primary interests are to come up with clear and efficient processes for navigating businesses through the Affordable Care Act, providing Innovative insurance solutions to stabilize premium increases, and lobby for more open pricing and user choice in healthcare.

Andrea Gray

Sr. Account Manager

Andrea is a Sr. Account Manager in the Employee Benefits division of Innovative Broker Services.

As an Account Manager, she works with the sales team to implement strategic and creative plan solutions. She provides daily hands-on service to her clients large and small, offering friendly and responsive interactions.

In addition to her duties in account management, Andrea is the in-house marketing and graphic designer for Innovative Broker Services.

Stephen Smith

Managing Partner/Broker

Stephen uses his integrity, energy, hard work, and innovation to help businesses reach their goals that others within our industry didn’t even know existed.   His passion is to see those businesses he grew up with – succeed.  As a native of Sacramento and Graduate of UC Davis (BS in Mechanical Engineering), he is just likely to have gone to school with the owner, or frequented the businesses he now partners with.

Stephen’s enjoys coaching his 4 children in their sports and enjoying time with his wife, and family.  He now has the following thoughts about parenting: “Before we got married I had four theories about bringing up children; now I have four children, and no theories” ~ John Wilmot

Eve Allen

Service and Account Manager

Eve Allen is an Account & Service Manager at Innovative Broker Services.  Her passion is to assist employers and employees with their employee benefits administration. Previously, she was an insurance recruiting director for 9 years specializing in employee benefits and spent 2 years as an employee benefits insurance specialist.

As a Service Manager, Eve works hand in hand with carriers on all employee related issues and prides herself in customer service and the ability to always put the employee first.  Additionally as an Account Manager Eve assist with renewals and market analysis, analyzing customer requirements to create dynamic solutions that solve account issues. Eve is also Innovative go to person for Medicare, designing individual solutions for each participant.

Amy Shorrock

Administrative Service Manager

Amy Shorrock is an Administrative Service Manager at Innovative Broker Services.  She brings an upbeat professional attitude with the drive to be a positive force, focused to detail. Amy is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of all internal data and organizational systems and processes. She directly supports the entire Innovative team so they can support clients in an efficient and accurate manner.

Amy has over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry and was previously an Account Manager for a dental carrier where she specialized in employee/employer benefits, renewals, retention, customer support and above all the single point of contact to her members/clients.

Julie Dezordo

Director, Finance and Accounting

Julie DeZordo is our Director of Finance and Accounting at Innovative Broker Services.  She earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Finance and Insurance at Sacramento State University.  She was a Commissioned Federal Bank Examiner for many years leading comprehensive examinations of multimillion dollar financial institutions.  Over the years, she has also managed financial operations of a local small business.

As Director of Finance and Accounting, Julie is responsible for day to day finance related matters as well as broader strategic financial planning for the agency.  While she prides herself in her attention to financial detail she is equally proud of her interpersonal skills and enjoys building and maintaining strong professional relationships.

Julie and her husband have a son in college and two children in high school.  She is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as volunteering in her community.
